Who is Delara?
My name is Delara and I am a Medical Esthetician. Professionally I have been in this field almost 2 years, but since I was 14 I got the opportunity to work alongside my mother who owns a salon. I started off by helping with spa parties and later grew an interest in doing nails.
How did the idea for Lala' Spot come about?
After graduating I was going to go work at my moms salon but then Covid hit. I started off with offering mobile services and as my clientele grew I decided to open a home spa.

What was your key driving force to become an entrepreneur?
My main drive to become an entrepreneur was to become a successful, independent role model for my daughter. After having my daughter I knew I didn't want to go back to working as an ECA. The beauty industry was all I knew other than healthcare. I know with becoming a Medical Esthetician I am able to provide for my daughter and do what I love.
What service is Lala's Spot popularity known for?
Lala’s Spot is most popular for our Body Contouring services. We use a series of treatments to contour and tone down the body. The results I am able to give my clients and the way they feel after leaving Lala’s Spot is a very rewarding feeling as a Medical Esthetician and business owner.
What's the one thing you are grateful to have been taught or learnt entering the Esthetics Industry?
The one thing I am grateful to have learnt while entering the Esthetics Industry is to feel the clients energy and reactions. With this I have been able to provide a calm and safe environment for my clients.

What is your greatest fear, and how do you manage fear?
My biggest fear is failing my daughter. The way I manage this is by becoming successful and showing her that it doesn't matter where you start or how long it takes you keep pushing.

What has been your most satisfying moment in business?
The most satisfying moment in business is being able to make my own schedule.

What do you love to do during your down time?
During my down time other than spending time with my daughter, I also enjoy doing my own nails, creating different nail art.

What has COVID-19 taught you both professionally and or personally?
Professionally it has taught me to come up with other ways to make income which pushed me to start my own skin care line. Personally it has taught me how to stay focused and motivated.

Advice to anyone whose just getting started on the solo Esthetician journey.
My advice would be don’t ever stop educating yourself, stay current with all the new beauty trends and products. Learn how to provide all services.
